Negligence in Ohio intersections cause many car accidents

Ohio drivers will know that intersections are dangerous areas at any time, regardless of how busy they are. Many fatalities occur in car accidents that were caused by drivers who disregarded stop signs or red traffic lights in intersections. One such an accident recently sent five people to different hospitals in Hancock County.

According to a report by the office of the sheriff, the crash involved two vehicles, and it occurred on a recent Thursday afternoon. A 34-year-old driver in an SUV was heading west through an intersection when a northbound vehicle smashed into it. The second car’s driver was a 59-year-old woman.

Three juvenile passengers and the SUV driver were rushed to an area hospital, where one of the children was admitted. The driver along with the other two kids were then airlifted to a hospital in Toledo. The other car’s driver was admitted to a different medical facility. No information was made available about the severity of the injuries, nor did the report indicate which driver might have been at fault.

Whenever Ohio people suffer injuries in car accidents that are caused by the negligence of others, the victims may pursue recovery of damages — even if they were passengers of a negligent driver. With an experienced personal injury attorney’s support and guidance, a claim may be filed in a civil court. A lawyer can assist with the establishment of negligence, which will form the basis of the lawsuit. The court will then adjudicate claims for financial losses along with emotional damages such as pain and suffering.
