Driver cuts off motorcycle, 2 riders injured in Ohio

Drivers accept major responsibilities every time they get behind the wheel. Even if a person has many years of driving experience, they should never forget the importance of paying attention at all times. If person is distracted — even for a few moments — they could cause an accident.

A recent motorcycle accident in Ohio has left law enforcement officials with a number of questions. According to what they know so far, a motorcycle carrying two people was traveling on a state road during the middle of the afternoon. Suddenly, an SUV turned onto the road, directly into the path of the motorcycle. Unfortunately, the two vehicles collided.

Both of the people on the motorcycle, a 61-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, were tossed from the motorcycle upon impact. First responders brought the motorcycle riders to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries that were classified as serious.

In addition to the two bikers, the SUV’s driver was also hurt in the crash and received medical attention. However, she has since been released from the hospital.

Colder months are on the way, but drivers should still be on the lookout for motorcyclists. The relatively small size of motorcycles — in comparison to passenger vehicles — can make it hard for drivers to see them, particularly if they aren’t paying enough attention. The reality is that bikers often end up with serious or fatal injuries after becoming involved in an accident with another vehicle.

As law enforcement officials complete their investigation, the accident victims may want to take time to determine their legal rights and responsibilities. The injuries suffered in this motorcycle crash could prove to be a major physical, emotional and financial setback for them.
