Truck Accident Seriously Injures 2 Children in Ohio

Two children were seriously injured and transported to a Columbus hospital after a two vehicle accident in Muskingum County. Local news reports detail that two children were hospitalized after being seriously injured in a truck accident. Both children are currently being treated in a Columbus hospital for injuries sustained in Sunday’s crash.

“According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol news release, 36-year-old Chad Orecchio of New Concord was driving a pickup truck southbound on State Route 83, about three miles north of New Concord, when a car driven by 33-year-old Chester Newton, III, of Zanesville attempted to make a left hand turn into a private drive.” This is when the truck struck the other vehicle on the road.

Reports detailed that the passenger car had four occupants at the time of the crash, which included an 11-year-old and a 9-year-old. Both suffered serious injuries in the crash. The current condition of the child is not available at the time of this blog post. The other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident only sustained minor injuries.

Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of this truck accident. More details of this crash will be available once police conclude their investigation.
