News reports detail that a Cleveland motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle collided with a semi-trailer Wednesday morning in Pawnee County, Oklahoma. The truck accident occurred around 8:10 a.m. on U.S. Highway 64 about a mile west of State Highway 18. State highway patrol expressed that the truck accident happened when a 64-year-old man was traveling northbound on U.S. 64 when he crossed the center lane of the highway and hit a southbound semi truck.
As a result of the truck accident, the Cleveland man died at the scene of head, arm and leg injuries. Patrol officers expressed to the media that the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and the driver of the semi truck was also wearing his seat belt. The driver of the semi truck was a 41-year-old resident of Perry, Ok.
Troopers reported that the motorcyclist’s condition was normal at the time of the crash. The cause of his truck accident has been listed as driving left of center.
In another unrelated truck accident, traffic was severely congested in Cleveland on westbound Shoreway due to a collision involving two trucks on Wednesday. According to police, the two trucks collided with each other around 4:30 p.m. on Interstate 90 west at Dead Man’s Curve. Although neither truck driver was injured in the crash, emergency crews were unable to pull the two trucks apart and clear them off the road following the incident. Due to the truck accident, gridlock traffic halted many vehicles on the road until around 6:45 p.m. when crews finally removed the trucks.
