A professor at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and world-famous Alzheimer's disease researcher was killed in a car accident December 19. The man in the other car, who fled the scene, also was found dead near the scene.
Recently, the Ohio Legislature passed a new amendment changing the current speed limit on the Ohio Turnpike from 65 miles per hour to 70 mph. This speed limit increase goes into effect on April 1, 2011 for all motorists including commercial truck drivers. Local news reports detail that two children were hospitalized after being seriously injured in a truck accident. Both children are currently being treated in a Columbus hospital for injuries sustained in Sunday's crash.

A recent truck accident killed a man from Euclid when the truck he was driving crashed on Interstate 71 in Medina County on Tuesday morning. The truck accident occurred in the southbound lanes at about 8:23 a.m. near the 223 mile maker in Medina Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the truck accident occurred when the 46-year-old man was driving a Hino box truck veered off the left side of the road. This caused the truck to hit a guardrail and caused the truck to overturn onto the driver's side.
A recent truck accident in Bath Township, Ohio, caused some major delays in traffic on Interstate 77 South on Wednesday morning. According to responding law enforcement officers and recent news reports, the truck accident occurred on I-77S, on a bridge going over State Route 18, when a jackknifed semi-truck was forced up against the center wall of the roadway. Police believe that a smaller box truck, which was traveling in front of the semi-truck, lost control and lost its load all over the highway.
