The Plain Dealer on October 11, 2002 devoted front-page coverage in a high-profile case we handled involving a 16-year-old boy stabbed and critically injured in the Flats entertainment district in Cleveland. Our firm obtained a confidential settlement for the young man and his family which was reached during the trial. Our three-year investigation demonstrated that the owners and operators of the parking lot where the incident occurred were aware of ongoing criminal activity in and around the property. We were able to convince the insurance carriers for the parking lot that the owner and operator had taken little or no precautions to protect their customers.
