In recognition of National Safety Month, The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation ("BWC") has announced the addition of two new safety courses to its extensive library of those already offered to workers of employers that have a workers' compensation policy.

One of those courses is focused on construction accidents, namely, in reducing them through instruction stressing accident analysis, proper identification and communication concerning workplace hazards, and full familiarity with OSHA regulations and guidelines. The course is especially aimed at construction safety professions and reviewing with them the full gamut of industrial health and safety concerns.

Not surprisingly, the BWC lauds the classes is offers through its Division of Safety and Hygiene, stating that they help employers by "protecting their workforce and minimizing costs associated with workers' compensation claims."

The Division is staffed by experts from a number of areas, including industrial safety and hygiene, construction and ergonomics. Technicians work with employees across a vast field of training exercises, with all courses being free to workers.
